Coolest guitar in the house (for now). Esquires are my favorite Fender. Think of it as a Telecaster without the worthless neck pickup and an extra added oomph from the lead position which bypasses the tone control. Telecasters don't do that. And a black Custom?? OK, it's refinished (a long time ago) and it looks great. A factory black Custom will cost you 4 or 5 times as much if you can find one (I've never seen one). It has a slab Brazilian board and has likely been re-fretted. Great playability and tone. Original electronics and parts. Most of the finish is missing from the back of the neck but it doesn't appear to have been re-finished. Case is original brown in good condition (the springs in the latches still work which is pretty unusual).
