These are pretty hard to come by. It's a 1960 and is original except for the tone pot. An Esquire isn't simply a one pickup Telecaster-it allows the bridge pickup (which is why you buy a Tele anyway) to go directly to the amp by passing the tone pot for a little extra oomph. There are those who argue that an Esquire is the superior guitar tone wise because it doesn't have a second pickup's magnet pulling on the strings. This is the best bleeping Esquire/Telecaster I've ever played (and that includes about a dozen black guards. Looks pretty cool too. The slab board neck is medium chunky and arrow straight. This is a monster player and a great collectible. There simply aren't that many of them.
