1963 Esquire Telecaster in Very Good condition. The guitar is original except that it was converted to Telecaster shortly after it was purchased. The finish is all original. The original mint guard was correctly cut for the neck pickup.
Finish is in excellent condition, neck finish is worn off of the playing area. The guitar has been refretted with Medium Jumbos, pro job, and these are in excellent condition. Different tuners were installed at one point, with the holes enlarged, and the neck has a crack from the low E tuner. This was repaired 30 years ago and has been stable since. The crack does not go through the head stock.
Kluson double line tuners of the correct type were re-installed. They are believed to be the original tuners that came on the guitar in late '63, when Fender converted to Double Lines.
Neck date is DEC 63, Pots are 304 6252, or 52nd week of 1962. Body date is 11/63. Serial number L20XXX. Bridge and bridge pickup appear to be original.
