Fender Japan was established in 1982, but due to a change of distributor, the name Fender Japan disappeared in 2015.
Fender Japan is still producing high quality instruments as MIJ (Made In Japan) series in the original Fender, but Fender Japan has gained a high reputation as Japan Vintage and is popular both in Japan and overseas.
This model was made in 1983 during the early "JV serial" period of Fender Japan, which is one of the most popular.
This is a 50's spec Precision Bass with ash body and 1 piece maple neck.
The pickguard has been replaced with an anodized pickguard, making it look more like a '57 model.
With a thick bass register and a rambunctious mid-range, the sound when played with a pickguard is very distinctive in an ensemble, and above all, it has an unmistakable feeling that is hard to beat.
The sound of the wood, which is more than 40 years old, is well-balanced with Fender Japan's typical goodness!
