1972 Fender Jazz Bass in SUNBURST FINISH - bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlays - with vintage Fender hardshell case - all in excellent condition for its age - serial number 3481xx. This is a very very special early 70s Jazz - she is VERY LIGHT - 8 pounds 8 ounces! Super comfy to wear and play. She has a wonderful antique vibe - there is a good deal of really nice checking to the sunburst finish - numerous dings, scratches, chips, checking - from REAL ACTUAL PLAYING! - and a really comfortable 'broken in' feel to this bass. The finish checking on the body and neck of this J bass is something more akin to what you would see on a 60s bass, so this has a really cool old feel to it. The man who brought this bass to us had owned it for years - and informed us that one pickup had been rewound years ago, but could not recall which. These pickups sound GREAT - and this bass is a great PLAYER. She will get a complete setup by our luthier prior to shipping. This 72 is one of the nicest of the early 70s Fender basses to come through the shop - please feel free to call for an in hand description 859-261-5500. Thanks.
