1980 Fender Jazz Bass Natural, Very Good, Original Hard case

Summary: The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960 as a higher-end alternative to the Precision Bass with closer string spacing, a thinner neck profile at the nut, and two punchy single-coil pickups. This particular Jazz bass has a beautiful natural finish and a black pickguard with Chrome hardware. This instrument has a fully bound rosewood neck and it also has the original bridge cover & the second chrome pickup cover.

Body: Offset solidbody with an Ash body.

Neck: Fully bound Maple neck with a Rosewood fretboard & block pearloid inlays. This is a 3-bolt neck. The frets are in good shape with lots of life left.

Electronics/Hardware: Two single-coil pickups. Two volume and one master tone control with black knobs. Open-gear “Fender”-stamped tuners. 3 bolt neck with a Black pickguard.

Cosmetics: Overall this baby is in great condition. There is a nick on the headstock directly below the serial number and the bass does have a few spots with light checking. There are also various scratches on the body that are consistent with a used but well cared for bass from the early 1980's. This bass has a shim in the neck pocket that may have been added at the Fender factory, or possibly was added later to stabalize the neck. This bass does have buckle rash on the back but it is very hard to see in photos because of the wonderful natural finish. This bass is structurally sound & ready to be played.

Playability: This bass plays great with no buzz or dead spots.
