DESCRIPTION
Up for sale is a stunning and stock early 1959 Fender Jazzmaster in its original sunburst finish w/ gold anodized pickguard. The 58-59 gold guard Jazzmasters are of the most desirable and for a good reason, they are truly great guitars and a just notch above the ones built just a few years later. The neck is pencil dated 1/59 and the body is pencil dated 2/59 in the bridge pickup cavity. The wiring is all untouched and the pickguard retains its original tape holding the wiring in place. Brazilian rosewood slab fingerboard w/ clay dots. The frets are in excellent shape leading me to believe the guitar was more than likely refretted at some point in its life using the same size fret wire. The pots are both coded 137850 dating to the 50th week of 1958. The guitar retains its original patent pending tailpiece, Kluson single line tuners, and amber switch tip. The body shows a decent amount of finish and play wear, primarily directly behind the bridge on the body and finish chipping around the sides / edges of the body. This sweet Jazzy comes complete with its original bridge cover and tweed hard case.
