1959 Fender Jazzmaster. This guitar features an older Sunburst refinish. The neck has been oversprayed on the back, but the head stock finish, and decal, are original. The frets look to be redone, and it is a fabulous, pro job, better than original. There or no extra holes, or enlarged holes on the head stock.
Electronics are original, including pickups, pots, jack, etc. The guitar has its original Tortoise guard, which has shrunk as normal, but has no cracks. Hardware is original, including tuners, trem, bridge, etc. Pickup covers and knobs are original. Though not pictured, the original bridge cover is included.
The serial number is 38XXX. Body date is 8/59. No neck date, which is normal for '59. Pots are coded 137 909, and 137 916. The guitar weighs in at 8.0 lbs. Neck pickup measures 8.7K Ohms, Bridge pickup measures 8.3K Ohms. Neck measures .758" at 1st fret, and .977" at 12th fret. Nut width is 1.65", which is on the wider side of the range for Fender "B" necks.
This guitar has a great feeling neck, and is a joy to play, creating a sound only found on these early Jazzmasters. It ships in a newer, high quality, Custom Shop Fender C&G case.
