Description

This very cool 1961 Jazzmaster was renecked in 1965. The body looks to have had a factory Candy Apple Red refinish at that time. The paint on the body has some large checking and flaking paint (previous moisture or heat?) but the finish is now stable.

The neck finish is 100% original including the matching CAR finish. The tuners, pickups, and all electronics are from 1961. The pickguard is from 1965. The guitar plays and sounds great - the pickups are strong and well balanced. The neck could stand a refret but the original frets still have life.

Pots: 1st week of '61; 21st week of '61.
Original single line Kluson tuners
Neck date: March 65.
Neck width: B
Weight is 7 lbs 11 oz.

Comes in the VERY rough original tweed case (painted black) that has only the middle latch remaining. It would be OK to shop the guitar in this case, but you'd want to have another case or gig bag.

Obviously, this would be an $8000+ guitar if all original. Here is a great chance to get a cool vintage player for a fraction of the price!

Many more pics available.
