Welcome to JTKM STUDIO.
Here we have an early 1961 Fender Jazzmaster finished the beautiful See-Thru Blond with an ash body, complete with its original case and matching serial number hang tag. The Jazzmaster is in 100% original condition and will interest collectors and vintage players. This Fender Jazzmaster has been in a Fender Stratocaster and Offset collection for the last few decades in the USA, we purchased it directly from the wife of the late owner. If you’re a buyer, read on!
As always, we will let the photos do most of the talking in terms of its condition. This particular example oozes vintage coolness in all its glory! Take a moment to study the photos and video, this one is truly stunning. With See-Thru Blond you often have to see them in person to really appreciate their beauty. This one is super lightweight too and you can feel the guitar resonate against your body when you play!
This one is from the true golden age of Fender. The Neck dates to May 1961 (5/61), the body; which is dated under the bridge pickup is dated to January 1961 (1/61). The pots, which are CTS branded (137) are dated to the 50th week of 1959 and 43rd week of 1960. All soldering throughout is completely original and never been overflown or altered. All switches and wiring are completely original and all masking tape is original and unaltered. It even has the Pat. Pending Tremolo system. The only change I had to make was one screw on the upper switch (look at the photos you'll see the screw). It has been replaced with a period correct screw.
The stunning See-Thru Blond finish is totally stock original and there is no touch-up throughout. You can still see some of the Ash woodgrain pushing its way through in areas and is more prominent on the back of the body, which is quite typical for vintage See-Thru blond.
The neck is exactly what you want on a Fender; very full feeling with a wonderful, dark slab board fingerboard. The frets have plenty of life in them and the same goes for the nut. What is ever better is that this one sounds as good as it looks! The pickups are perfectly balanced with the neck reading 7.87 and the bridge 7.78. This Jazzmaster has it all!
Note that the bridge cover shown in the photos belongs to a different guitar and is not included in the sale.
All internal photos are available upon request.
The Jazzmaster will come professional set up with 11s and the bridge will be floating as they should. Surf, my friends, will certainly be up!
There you have it, yet another wonderful vintage Fender offset from the golden age at JTKM STUDIO.
