Offered for sale; 1980 Fender Stratocaster left hand version serial number S869113.
This guitar is in very good condition. The neck and frets are fine, cosmetically showing normal wear for an instrument that is played and enjoyed. The back of the neck has been pro refinished here at Imperial Guitar and Soundworks. As with many fenders of this era the serial number (starting with S8) indicates 1978 but the guitar was put together after that. There is no date stamp on the neck. The virgin solder obscures the pot dates but the pickups are dated 1980. As most know, and we’ve seen so many times, the serial number dating varies, due largely to the volume of necks produced and carried over into subsequent builds. Additional design ques including the large peghead, bullet truss rod adjustment and 3-bolt neck plate all qualities of this era Stratocaster.
This “Lefty” weighs in at 10.4lbs, has a 1 9/16” nut width, 25.5 scale length, profile at the first fret is .870”, and at the twelfth .920”. The neck radius is 7.25”.
Leftys! If you’ve been looking for a great “everyday player” with further collectible potential, look no further, this could be just the right guitar.
Original hard shell case included.
*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.
This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.
