Description

This is a Left Handed 1965 Fender® Sunburst Strat® in EXC condition. All original except for replaced nut, currently has 5-way switch with original 3-way switch in the case, bridge pickup has been rewound but is original, trem cover is missing.

This is a vintage Strat I sold back in 2011 and was able to repurchase recently. The guitar is in the same condition as when I sold it. All pics, both internal and external, were taken recently. This Strat was originally inspected, examined, and set-up by Scott Freilich of Top Shelf Music in 2011. It was also recently reinspected and set-up by Scott on March 29, 2018.

This is one of about half a dozen 1965 Strats I've seen from mid-65 that came with the F plate(typical for that period); this one is F125920.

Date Codes:
• Neck stamp: 2JUN65 B
• PUP dates: 6-11-65
• Pot dates: 137 6514
• Neck Plate: F125920

Neck PUP=5.76K, middle PUP=5.73K, Bridge PUP=7.54K. Nice blend three-color Sunburst with strong unfaded color, no wear through the wood except small area of arm wear on the side/bottom, DARK Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, original frets have been leveled and the guitar now plays great.

The back of the neck is worn nicely: feels smooth and fast, just the way you want it! Has unfilled hole on lower horn from righty strap knob(about 1/2 of all the Strats I've ever owned, new or vintage, have been flipped over to righty at one time), pickguard has fair amount of wear.

The guitar sounds and plays great. The gray bottom Pickup Strats from this period are known to be exceptional sounding vintage Strats - this is one of those Strats!

Includes new G&G black Tolex hardshell case.
