New Fender Limited Edition American Special Jazzmaster w/ Bigsby.Part of the 2016 Magnificent 7 collection.Only 500 made.We are an authorized Fender dealership so this guitar is being sold with full factory warranty.
The Fender Magnificent 7 Limited Edition American Special Jazzmaster Bigsby is a very special model that combines sleek and sophisticated style with peerless control. Replacing the usual Jazzmaster bridge, Fender has fitted each of these rare models with a Bigsby-Licensed B50 vibrato tailpiece, which provides smooth and precise vibrato control. As you'd expect, the Jazzmaster is built to Fender's customary high-standards of quality, and each model in this Magnificent 7 series is supplied with its very own tweed case, to protect it in style.
Cool Jazzmaster body
The Jazzmaster body is shaped with the same offset waist design that has made it so popular amongst guitarists since its introduction decades ago. The idea behind the design was to create a shape that allowed jazz players to perform in a seated position with the guitar resting on their knee, with the same level of comfort as when playing whilst standing.
The body is crafted from alder - a tonewood that Fender favoured during the production of their beloved late ’50s and early ’60s models. It is a medium-weight that has the ability to produce a deep, resounding tone with mids dripping with character and well-rounded lows. The highs sizzle nicely when overdriven without giving away to harsh overtones, whilst generating a generous level of sustain. The gloss urethane coating on the body allows the wood to resonate sweetly, whilst guaranteeing a considerable level of protection to the finish. The body work beneath the strings is protected by a stylish 3-ply black/white/black pickguard.
Sturdy "C" shape neck
A slender, "C"-shaped maple neck, delivers a brightness that shines perfectly alongside the alder's dense undertones. The maple lends a crispness to the highs, a choppy attack in the mids - responding well to aggressive playing across the strings - and firm, unyielding lows. Combined with the accommodating rosewood fingerboard - which smooths out any unwanted grittiness from the tone produced by the maple - the neck is finished with satin polyurethane, creating a fast-playing neck that is protected from rubbing or damage. The fingerboard is cut to a radius of 9.5" and features 21 medium-jumbo sized frets that are the perfectly suited to most playing styles.
American Vintage '65 pickups
Fender has equipped the Magnificent 7 American Special Jazzmaster with a pair of American Vintage '65 single-coil Jazzmaster pickups in the neck and bridge positions. These versatile pickups allow you to pull a wide range of tones from the Jazzmaster, giving you exceptional control over your sound. Control comes in the form of a 3-way pickup selector switch, a master volume pot, and a master tone pot - a setup that is simple by design, yet exceptionally powerful when it comes to shaping and crafting your tone. Matching the vintage-style pickups are white "Witch Hat" control knobs.
As previously stated, this unique Jazzmaster benefits from the addition of a Bigsby-License B50 vibrato tailpiece, which is an absolute joy to perform with. Controlling your vibrato can be done with deft precision, and the tailpiece with always slip back into its original position without any fuss. You can rest assured that string intonation is upheld beautifully by the 6-saddle adjustable bridge and tailpiece partnership, whilst die-cast tuning machines maintain tuning integrity accurately throughout the most energetic of performances.
