1957 Fender Musicmaster
This one comes from the second full year of the Musicmaster, during Fender’s famous Pre CBS era. From what we can tell, it has had two owners. The second owner painted the guitar from its original Desert Sand to the period Fender color, Surf Green in the early 1960’s. Apparently he was into the surf sound of that time. The original tuning machines are included but were changed out also several decades back with new matching period tuners. This guitar is one of the short scales. She has the desirable soft V shape neck with the 1 5/8 inch at the nut “B”width. The short scale makes the guitar very light and easy to play up and down the neck and this neck profile allows you to feel like you are playing an old tele or strat. Frets have plenty of life left for an instrument of this age. There is some normal wear and tear overall. But, no cracks, repairs or major dings. The entire instrument has been inspected and professionally set up by our luthier, and is in top playing condition. All original, other than the tuners (old ones included), the chrome bridge cover (looks like it was replaced back in the 60’s. Many like the looks without the cover) and the paint change (now decades old). Comes with well-used, period case. Center latch not working, but others still close fine. This guitar is just plain fun to play and a great way to get a “Golden Era”pre CBS instrument into your collection for an amazing price. There aren’t many left around, so don’t miss it!
