Description

Summary: This vintage Fender bass guitar has the original red finish and it plays and sounds great. This short-scale classic is simple with one pickup, one volume knob & one tone knob. This bass guitar has been fully set up & it is ready to be played and loved for years to come.

Body: Offset double cutaway ash body with a wonderful red finish that shows lots of wear around the edges & has some nice checking developing throughout the instrument.

Neck: 1 piece maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays, 19 frets, original tuning keys. This short-scale bass has a scale length of 30.25” and the nut width is 1 9/16”.

Pickups/Hardware: Chrome hardware, one single coil pickup, one volume knob & one tone knob. Original tuning keys, original chrome bridge. This instrument still has the original logo but the words “MUSICMASTER BASS” have been worn off – you can still see the imprint of the words if you hold it into the light.

Cosmetics: This instrument shows some wear & tear – especially around the edges of the guitar. The nicks & dings & scratches are all consistent with an instrument from the late 1960’s.

Playability: This bass plays great – the action is low & the bass plays with some fretting out particularly above the 12 fret. A full re-fret would remedy this problem but it is a very playable and workable bass as is.

Modifications: The original thumb rest has been removed and the words “MusicMaster Bass” have been scratched off of the logo – you can still see the imprint of these words if you look close & hold it into the light.

Weight: 7 lbs, 10 oz.

Case: This instrument will be shipped in a gig bag.
