Description

Summary: The Mustang was created as a mid-line model between the student grade DuoSonic and the professional Telecaster. This CBS era example is a nice playing vintage guitar and it comes with the original pickup cover & the whammy bar - this guitar also includes a non-original tweed hardshell case.

Body: Alder offset body. Dakota Red finish.

Neck: Maple with rosewood fretboard and pearloid dot markers. Short (22.5”) scale. Larger CBS era headstock. The nut width is 1 7/16". The frets on this guitar do show some divits and wear but they still have some life left in them.

Pickups/Hardware: Two single coil pickups. Tremolo bridge. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners. White pearloid pickguard. Original on/off/on pickup switches. One volume and one tone control (black witch hat knobs) on separate jack plate.

Cosmetics: This guitar has great character with heavy checking on the aged finish. There are several dings & nicks around the edges of this instrument and some pitting is happening on the bridge plate, however, this is all consistent with a well-used and loved guitar from the 1960's.

Playability: The action is set low and the short scale neck makes fretting a breeze, especially for folks with shorter fingers. Tone is classic Fender: bright, snappy and surfy.

Mods/Repairs: N/A

Weight: 7 lbs, 3 0z.

Case: Non-original tweed hardshell case that fits the Mustang perfect
