1966 Fender Mustang Dakota Red w/ohsc

Summary: Introduced just before the CBS takeover of Fender, the Mustang was part of a redesign of Fender's line of student level guitars which included the Duo-sonic and Musicmaster. The Mustang offered somewhat more sophisticated electronics than earlier student guitars and also featured a 24-inch scale length. This particular Mustang is in great shape, all original, sounds fantastic and plays like a dream. It ships in its beautiful original grey hardshell case.

Body: It has a double cutaway alder body with a beautiful Dakota Red finish and topped off with a 3 ply pearloid guard.

Neck: The maple neck features a 24” scale length, rosewood veneer fretboard, 1 5/8” nut width, 22 frets, pearl dots, bone nut and F style tuners with white buttons.

Pickups/Hardware: It has the original single coil pickups with black covers, 2 on/off/on switches, master volume and tone, bridge with bridge cover, vibrato system that functions flawlessly and whammy bar.

Cosmetics: This Mustang has been well kept and cared for in its life. It has finish checking all over the body, a little wear through the arm rest area, some minor scratches and nicks here and there, a lot of wear through the finish on the back of the neck and almost no wear on the frets.

Playability: It is hard to put this guitar down. The neck feels amazing and the resonance of this instrument acoustically is vibrant and snappy with lots of sustain. Our in house luthier has restrung with guitar with a new set of 10s, set it up with nice low action and inspected the whole instrument.
