Description

Summary: The Mustang was created as a mid-line model between the student grade DuoSonic and the professional Telecaster. This particular Fender was made in 1966 and it has a beautiful worn blue finish. This Fender is a nice playing vintage guitar with lots of wear & a ton of character. This beautiful instrument ships in the original hard shell case.

Body: Alder offset body. Worn out light blue finish.

Neck: Maple with rosewood fretboard and pearloid dot markers. Short (22.5”) scale. Larger CBS era headstock. The nut width is 1 7/16". The frets on this guitar do show some divots and wear but they still have some life left in them.

Pickups/Hardware: Two single coil pickups. Tremolo bridge. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners. White pearloid pickguard. Original on/off/on pickup switches. One volume and one tone control (black witch hat knobs) on separate jack plate.

Cosmetics: This guitar shows lots of vintage wear – there are lots of small scratches & dings on this instrument and the blue finish has been aged & has lost lots of the original glossy luster. The headstock logo was filled in with black. Overall this instrument is structurally solid & ready to be played and loved. This instrument has really awesome checking that is happening on the headstock & neck - Mojo abounds!

Playability: The action is set low and the short scale neck makes fretting a breeze, especially for folks with shorter fingers. Tone is classic Fender: bright, snappy and surfy. We set this guitar up with 10’s and it plays great.

Mods/Repairs: N/A

Weight: 7 lbs, 5 0z.

Case: This vintage Fender ships in the original hard shell grey tolex guitar case.
