Description
The Fender Mustang debuted in 1964 as a quality electric guitar at an affordable price. Leo’s team packed it with cool features like the offset waist body shape, tremolo tailpiece, and two pickups with phase switchable wiring. Fender introduced the veneer Rosewood fretboard in place of the slab in 1962 but a few short scale Fenders escaped the factory with slab Rosewood fretboard between August and November of 1965.

This is one of those rare guitars with a slab Rosewood fretboard made in September of 1965. All parts appear to be original to the guitar except for one slider switch. The neck and frets are in near factory condition and the guitar plays like a dream. We’re confident you’ll love the tone and playability of this rare slab fretboard 1966 Fender Mustang in Red with original case, strap, and bridge cover.
