Description

Every once in a while, we get lucky and find a guitar and amp still together decades after they were initially sold, and that’s precisely what we have here with this 1951 Fender Nocaster and Fender Pro Amp! Not only are they still together, but both remain in excellent condition! From the front and back, this Nocaster has to be one of the cleanest examples we’ve seen in years! The only noticeable wear on the guitar is on the treble horn’s inner bout; beyond that, there isn’t even weather checking! The guitar itself is thunderous and resonant, each note ringing with presence and clarity. The Pro Amp is in just as good condition, with some expected maintenance to ensure continued functionality. The Pro Amp was the go-to option for professional musicians of its time, as it offered a strong 1×15” Jensen speaker and up to 20 watts of power, providing stage presence and volume. This particular example has that power; however, the speaker was professionally re-coned with vintage spec material. As with most old amps, the original filter caps were replaced with NOS caps for the closest replacements possible. Also included with the set is a letter written by Radio Tel General Manager and overall Fender legend Don Randall, who offered some advice and thoughts to the original owner about the guitar and amp. Radio Tel was Fender’s major distributor at the time. He was also kind enough to include a schematic of the amp, which we also have preserved along with the letter. If you’re looking for that true museum-grade gear, this is the set for you!

Overall Condition: 9.5, light wear to the inner horn area, very light playwear
