This pre-owned 1985 Fender Performer is a cool cool guitar in original Emerald Green finish.
Deigned by John Page at Fender, these were made for only one year in 1985 and were very representative of the 1980s style that was happening at the time. Howard Jones, Thompson Twins, and the Cure ruled the charts and the design of the guitars reflected this style of music. Hence the Performer!
Neck is straight and plays real well. It has a good low action and no buzz or issues. Original tuners work well.
Original pickups are very unique and have a real nice, thick tone to them. The two pickups are custom humbuckers which both sit at an angle opposite to that of a standard Stratocaster or Telecaster bridge pickup. It appears that the coils are offset to keep the magnets in line with the strings, although they are potted in epoxy so the magnets cannot be seen. The guitar featured controls for master volume and TBX, a 3-way pickup selector and a coil splitting switch.
Guitar is all original with the exception of the locking nut behind the nut that has been removed and the trem arm is a newer trem arm. Besides that, it is all original. All the fine tuners are present and working well. There is a small finish chip on the side of the guitar, we have included a photo.
Comes with a gig bag.
