1957 Precision Bass. This instrument features a refinished body in Fiesta Red Lacquer by Fiesta Finishes™. The neck finish and decal are original, the neck has been refretted with larger frets.
The body was previously routed for additional pickups, one under the guard and another near the bridge. These routes have been professionally repaired, and the original pickup cavity remains unaltered.
The bass features original body and neck with changes as noted, original tuners, original neck plate, original control plate, original tone pot, orginal tone capacitor, original jack and jack plate.
Changed parts include an original grey bottom pickup from a 1970 Telecaster Bass, pick guard, volume pot, and bridge and pickup covers.
The bass weighs 8.4 lbs. w/o covers. The serial number is -18XXX. The pickup measures 6.8K Ohms. The neck is a nice, big "V." It measures .936" at 1st fret and 1.01" at 12th fret. The nut is 1.72". These early Precisions tend to have slightly narrower nuts as compared to '60's P's which usually measure a full 1.75".
This bass has the deep thump you can only get with a single coil Precision. It looks, sounds, and plays great.
The bass ships in a sturdy, newer, Custom Shop spec C & G black Tolex case.
