1958 Fender Precision Bass. This bass features a Two Tone Sunburst finish, Anodized Guard, Raised A-Pole Pickup, and Maple Fingerboard. The body is a professional refinish. The neck finish is original, however it looks as though the decal was replaced, and the headstock may have been oversprayed.
Pickups, Bridge Plate, and pots are original. Tuners are correct vintage reverse tune, but may be slightly later. The pick guard mounted on the guitar is a reproduction, however the original is included. The original is still gold anodized on the back but has been polished to silver on the front. These guards can be re-anodized, and we may do so, but COVID-19 has made such things more difficult at this time. Both guards are included in the sale.
The serial number is 026XXX. The neck date is 7-58, body date is 9/57. Pots are coded 304 807. Pickup set measures 12.2K Ohms. Neck is a nice, full C shape (not a V), measuring .820" at 1st fret and 1.0" at 12th fret. The nut width is 1.72", so just slightly narrower than the early 60's necks.
The bass sounds and plays wonderfully. The bass ships in a 1982 '57 Precision re-issue case.
