1961 Fender Precision Bass. This is a great playing and sounding instrument at an affordable price due to some changed parts. The body and neck are refinished in nitro lacquer by Fiesta Finishes™. The body is a creamy, aged Olympic White. Both body and neck are in good condition with no repairs or cracks. The frets are original and in good shape.
Original parts include body and neck (refinished), bridge, and tortoise guard. Guard has shrunk as usual, and has some blemishes. Pickup cutouts on the guard have been clearanced to allow adjustment of pickups. No cracks in the guard.
Reproduction parts include tuners (Schaller), knobs, finger rest, pickups and pots. The pickups are Seymour Duncan Vintage. The tuners make the bass a joy play and tune as there is no wear or play as typically found on original tuners. And the high quality CTS pots are smooth and quiet with none of the rough scratchiness often encountered with vintage pots.
The serial number is 71XXX. Neck date is 9-61 and body date is 8/61. Bass weighs a very light 8.2 lbs. Neck is not too thin as some from this era. Medium profile measuring .805" at 1st fret and .997" at 12th fret. Nice feel. Pickup measures 10.7K Ohms, a perfect vintage reading.
The bass ships in a later 60's black Tolex Fender "Tail Logo" case.
