1969 Fender Precision Bass. This instrument features a body refinish in Lacquer by Fiesta Finishes™. Color is a gorgeous Ocean Turquoise Metallic. The neck finish, decal, and frets are all original and in excellent condition.
This bass features some brand new Custom Shop spec electronics, including pickups, pots (CTS vintage style), and jack (Switchcraft). These parts ensure that the pots are silky smooth, jack works perfectly with no popping, and pickups are perfect spec, with no deterioration of the windings. This instrument is fully ready for the road or studio, and will perform reliably for years to come. All wiring is done in vintage style cloth wires.
Guard and shield are Fender Custom shop spec replacements. Tuners are correct Schallers, identical to the originals, but branded "Schaller" rather than "Fender."
The serial number is 262XXX. Previous owner's name is lightly scratched onto the neck plate. The bass weighs 8.9 lbs. The neck has a nice feel, a full C shape, measuring .880" at 1st fret and 1.00" at 12th fret. The bass is a joy to play, and has a great feel and sound.
The neck is a "B" width, meaning it is narrower at the nut than pre CBS Precisions, but wider than the narrow Jazz Bass nut, making it a great player.
The bass ships in a generic black hard shell case.
This is likely the best bargain in a vintage Precision Bass we've offered in a while. Superior to Custom Shop offerings, at less than half the price!
