1970 Fender Precision Bass in SUNBURST FINISH - All Original - with original Fender hardshell case, serial number 285485 F stamp neck plate. THIS is a WONDERFUL AND VERY LIGHTWEIGHT OLD P-BASS - a great piece for the collection, and an even better player. She weighs 8 pounds 8 ounces! Super comfortable to play! She is really in wonderful shape for her age; lovely light checking to the original Sunburst Finish, some scratches, dings and dents (see photos), frets are in great condition-some light 'divoting' on the first few frets, some buckle rash on the back side, missing the thumb rest, original pickups, electronics. The bridge and pickup covers are from a 1985 USA Pbass American Vintage Reissue - and they will come with the sale. The serial number dates this P-bass to late 1969 - early 1970. Bottom of the grey bottom pickup indicates 1970, pot codes are 1966. This is THE classic Fender sound - simple, warm, legendary - and this is the very best of the late 60s/early 70s Fender P's we've had - just has that 'unified' vibe to it. What is really cool is that this particular P-bass features a LOVELY FLAMED MAPLE NECK AND HEADSTOCK. This is some nice subtle FLAMED MAPLE - not flamed throughout - but very natural looking. If you are on the hunt for a late 60s/early 70s Precision Bass - this is the one. Light, wonderful sound, wonderful playability. A keeper. We have many more photos - just ask - or call for an in hand description at 859-261-5500. Thanks.
