Up for sale, a Maple-Board Fender P-Bass from 1971. This one has some serious mojo and some nice mods. EMG pickups sound awesome as they always do. Along with three original Fender tuners, this bass has a Schaller D-Tuner for drop-D tuning. A Schaller bridge has also been installed. All nice upgrades.
The body has been refinished awhile ago and has re-aged to a nice vintage patina. Maple fingerboard in very good condition, refretted with jumbo frets still in great shape. Some slight finish chipping on the back of the neck. The bass has normal playing wear for a 40+ year old instrument, but overall presents very well.
Set up in-house to play its best. Currently equipped with flat wound strings for ultimate old-school tone, but would sound marvelous with round wound strings, too. Precision basses have been played by a multitude of virtuosos in a multitude of styles and this 1971 model has some nice upgrades described above to give it even more oomph. Comes with a gig bag and all the mojo you need to hold down the groove all night long.
