This is quite a great find for the most picky Fender collector/player, its Deep Wine Red finish shows off its ultra grainey ash body, its rare factory “Fretless” Rosewood neck is really clean & a fabulous player, its has a repro Black’gard is quite pretty & she now sports a far better than factory Bartolini pickup, pots date to the 31st week of 1978, the body has a date stamped sticker from Oct.25th, 1978, there is a big chip on the very bottom of the face below the ‘gard that appears to have cracked the clear finish only around to the back side (see pics), otherwise she’s very clean & quite beautiful, she’s excellent overall & has that tone you’d like, comes in a very nice high end gig bag.
