1982 Fender Precision Special Bass White

The Stratocaster might get all the headlines but the biggest innovation Leo ever came up with was the Precision bass. There have been a ton of different versions over the years but you can always tell the good ones by how much wear they have. These are the instruments that just never got put down.

This one has had its electronics replaced with a much more traditional set-up. The third pot and mini-switch are not connected in the circuit but were left so there aren't any extra holes in the pickguard. It plays nice but the frets are at the end of their life. If you like tall frets you should consider a re-fret. There is a repaired crack at the end of the fingerboard where the truss rod comes out. There's a new nut there too and the truss works fine.
