Back in the day, guitar players favored the 15" speaker over all others. In the mid 60's, before Marshalls (and certain solid state amps) took over the backline, you would see Fender Dual Showmans (2x15") and Sunn 200S (2 x 15") occupying a prominent spot. They remained popular until the late 60's and the 4 x 12" cabinet took over. 15" speakers have been out of fashion for a long time. But they are great and under appreciated. They can handle the highs as well as any 10" and handle the bottom better than any other size speaker. The Fender Pro, in the current market, is one of the least expensive tweed Fenders. It is the same amp section as a Bandmaster which will cost you two or three times as much. It is the same amp section as a Super which will cost thousands less. Want a 26 watt tweed but you don't like the 15" and you don't have the budget for a Super or Bandmaster? Buy a Pro and a baffle adaptor and drop in a 12". Better still, have Mojotone build you an offset 2-10" baffle for it and get a pair of P10Rs or Q's re-coned as 16 ohms to match the 8 ohm OT in a Pro. It will save you thousands. This Pro has its original tweed and grill cloth (no extra charge for the genuine 1960's cigarette burns). All of the caps and many resistors have been replaced but the transformers are original as is the speaker (re-coned). The handle has been replaced.
