Offered for sale;

1962 Fender Pro Amp 6G5-A serial number 55613.

This Pro Amp is in excellent condition, fully functional and cosmetically very clean. This is a rare find and is one of the finest examples we’ve seen in the last thirty years.

The proper amount of servicing has been performed including new filter caps, new 2016 Classic Tone output transformer and a new 3-prong A/C power cord. The amp had non-original tilt back legs which are no longer present; the holes remain from the fastening screws. The wood on the inside of the cabinet has been painted black; we thought possibly to match the baffle board.

The Pro Amps were outfitted with either a Jensen P15N or Oxford 15M6, this example utilizes the Oxford. The vibrato, which is typical of these Brownies, is unlike the tremolos of the tweeds and black faces. It borders on Univibe. That alone is worth the price of admission. The 15” makes it a bit more lush. Although most of the datable components we could see are dated 1961 we did find one pot dated 1962.

The Pro Amp is one of Fender’s oldest designs and made it’s “bones” being the “go to” amp for artists such as Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Pete Townshend, Jeff Beck, Chuck Berry, John Mclaughlin and more…

This is one to grab and grab quickly! This amp could make a deaf man hear!

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
