Offered for sale;

Used 1968 Fender Pro Reverb serial number A11322.

This amp is in very good condition, fully functional. There has been some routine maintenance performed including cleaning and caps. Cosmetically there are some marks in the tolex, the grille has some visible wear and the upper back panel is missing.

The reverb tank is original and of course the 1968 model features the “Drip edge” grille.
The Pro Reverb has the same 2×12″ speaker configuration as the Twin Reverb, but at 40 watts it’s a less powerful amp featuring 2 power tubes, smaller transformers and a tube rectifier. Together this makes the Pro Reverb break up at a lower volume level. For many years it has been living in the shadow of it’s more muscular brother, the Twin Reverb. Today with the need for lower wattage amps the Pro Reverb has become much more desirable.

Teagle and Sprung, authors of the definitive book on Fender amplifiers (Fender Amps: The First Fifty Years), described the Blackface Pro Reverb as the best amplifier ever produced likely due to its combination of the two twelve inch speakers, its high quality reverb and tremolo, and just the right amount of power to get either classic Blackface Fender cleans or natural tube breakup at reasonable volumes. They wrote, "the author recommends these amps as the best all-around amp ever made—by anyone".

To that point, although this amp was born with the Model AB668 “Silver Face” circuit it has been converted to the Model AA165 “Black Face”. There is a reason that small change is so popular. It went from a real good sounding amp to remarkable.

This is a great sounding lower wattage Fender. Own the real thing!

“We test every used amp and pedal when we buy it and bring it up to our standards before we offer it for sale. Then we burn it in for an hour or so before we ship so that there are no surprises.”

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
