Description

A 40 Year Old Beauty in near mint condition with a matching CAR Painted Headstock and Gold Hardware. The pick ups may include the hotter "X-1" model in the lead position. It has a 5 way switch, a 2 way tone switch on the lower knob and a unique Trem bridge. It has a one piece 4-bolt Maple Neck and a smaller headstock. All the Gold parts were reportedly plated with 100 Micron Gold (like fine jewelry) and it was said because of this, even with the higher $995. price tag, that Fender actually lost money on every unit sold. Called the Gold Stratocaster, it was introduced in 1981 as a Limited Edition in the Collector's Series. This one really looks new with only a few very minor nicks and scratches that really don't evn show up in the pictures.
A rare piece of Fender History from our Vault that few players have ever seen or even heard of. A collectors dream that plays and sounds killer.
