Fender Ike Turner Stratocaster

Summary: According to many genre historians, Ike may or may not be responsible for the “first” rock and roll record – 1951’s “Rocket 88” by Turner sideman Jackie Brenston. But one thing is undeniable: the man was a peerless bandleader and an extremely gifted guitarist. Whammy bar in hand, he was capable of strangling any number of squalls and snarls from his Fender, and he had an uncanny knack for catchy hooks. This guitar features Ike Turners signature in gold under the finish and was produced from a limited run of 100 pieces.

Body: Select Alder in Sonic Blue with a “Thinskin” Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish.

Neck: Maple with a rosewood fretboard with nitrocellulose Lacquer finish, 21 frets, 7.25” radius, 25.5” scale length, and features an early ‘60s “C” shape.

Pickups/Hardware: Custom ‘60s Single-Coil pickups, 3-position blade switch, American Vintage Synchronized tremolo with ash tray cover, Vintage style Fender machine heads

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition and plays very well. There is a discoloration on the back of the body. It is in the shape of a square and is a little brown. It is very light and hard to photograph. Please ask for more pictures if you like.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
