This is a very cool vintage Fender Stratocaster that plays great and sounds incredible. The neck is dated 8/54 and the serial number dates to 1954. The neck appears to have the original finish with some overspray. There are 2 extra string tree holes in the front of the headstock. The body was refinished by MJT, and during the refinishing process a pencil date which appears to indicate ’55 was uncovered in the control cavity. We had originally purchased this as a ’54 and we are unsure if the pencil date in the pocket is original but it looks correct. The neck and middle pickup appear to be original, the bridge pickup is not. All of the plastic parts are high quality bakelite repro parts. The tuners and pots are repro. The bridge and 5 of the saddles appear to be original. This is obviously a player grade guitar, but it is an excellent instrument. It was recently refretted by Paul Reed Smith. It weighs 7 pounds and 4 ounces. The guitar comes with a non original hard case.
