This Fender Stratocaster was made in the USA in 1954. It plays GREAT and sounds awesome, but as a piece of early Fender history this would also be a good candidate for restoration. The body and neck are original. The neck is dated 8/54 and initialed by Tadeo Gomez. The finish on the neck is original except for the fretboard. The decal is original. The body has been stripped - and it is a lovely piece of ash. This is a hardtail body. Two of the three pickups appear to be original - but rewound, the third pickup is not original. The pots are not original. All of the plastic is new high quality bakelite repro plastic. The bridge and 5 of the 6 saddles appear to be original. The tuners are changed and the holes enlarged. There are 2 extra string tree holes in the headstock. The guitar has been refretted, likely more than once. The neckplate is a '56 neckplate which was put on it by the person I acquired it from.

It comes with a non original later Fender hard shell case.
