Great player grade ’55 Strat with an early big neck.
Sounds great, bridge pickup is exceptionally “Tele” sounding, weighs in at 8.3 lbs
Hard to find year in 8.0 condition with swap ash body and a wonderfully big full neck. Uncirculated example purchased from the family of the long time owner. Round D neck profile is rounded and full, this is a pre V-neck profile: .923 1st Fret, .953 7th Fret, .979 12th Fret.
Rare straight-grained ash on the bass side of the body, which I’ve only seen on a few 1954 & 1955 Stratocasters. Late 1955 dates, with earlier 1955 specs, including large boat neck & nice two tone sunburst. Some overspray on the fret board at the 2nd and 3rd fret where the fret wear is. Refretted with original size frets.
Missing the two bakelite tone knobs, the trem arm is missing it’s tip and was bent, other than that, all original. Trem back plate included.
11/55 body date & 12 55 neck dates. 304543 Pot date. Hairline crack on pickguard at the switch. Original Tweed Case is in worn shape
