Description

It's 1957 and "That'll Be the Day" is number one on the chart. Every nerdy kid wants to be Buddy Holly. The Stratocaster is the ticket and you get up at 5 AM to deliver papers until you can afford the $274 for the guitar and $224 for the Super Amp. Mom helps out a little from her mad money stash and you pile into the DeSoto station wagon with Mom and your sister and you head to Hermie's Music Store in Schenectady. Not long after, the F chord defeats you and the guitar and amp never leave the house and spend the next 65 years under the bed at Mom's house. That's probably not the story here but it could be. The 57 Strat isn't quite mint-there are a few pick scratches above the guard and some very light wear to the fingerboard. It is 100% original. The amp is a museum piece. The very slightest fraying at the bottom corners is the only sign this amp was ever used. Not a single part has been changed or replaced. I don't usually sell guitars and amps in pairs but sometimes something special comes along and it seems a shame not to sell them together. I'll break them up but I thought somebody might like the pair before I do. Guitar is in its original tweed case and the amp has its Victoria cover.
