1957 Fender Stratocaster. This is an iconic year for the Strat. The guitar features a body refinish in Two Tone Sunburst by Fiesta Finishes™. The neck is also refinished/oversprayed, with much original finish remaining on the fingerboard. The lacquer on the neck is paper thin just enough to seal the wood, but if feels almost like bare wood. The frets are original, but very worn in the first few positions. We prefer to leave original frets alone, and let the buyer decide if a fret job is necessary.

Other than the finish work, the guitar is largely all original with a few exceptions. The guard is a very old repro, abut looks completely original. The pots are newer CTS units, and a modern 5-way switch is installed. Trem arm and trem cover are reproductions. Saddles are aged Pat. Pending repros by Fender.

All bridge parts are original other than the saddles. The pickups are original. Single line Kluson tuners are original, Knobs and pickup covers are original.

The neck date is 8-57, and the body date is 9-57, Serial number is -22805, stamped on the lower part of the plate as is common on late '57 Fender guitars. The neck is a nice, big, soft "V," measuring .910" at 1st fret and 1.00" at the 12th fret, a nice, big "V" but it does not feel too big in the hand. This is also one of the lightest Stratocasters we have ever seen at 6.9 lbs. Original pickups measure, Neck to Bridge, 5.7K, 5.8K, 5.7K Ohms

This guitar sounds divine, and the feel of the neck is out of this world. This is a fine example of an early V neck Stratocaster!

The guitar ships in an 80's Fender Tweed re-issue case.
