I so deeply love my job here at GuitarDesires with all the amazing things our great customers bring us. And our world-class boutique brokerage consistently yeilds the best net proceeds for them through the professional exposure to the Global collectorbase!

From our brokerage client, here's a stunning and historic find and one of the first ever exemplars of Fender's venerable Red Sparkle Candy Apple Red - completely authentic and ordered as a Custom Color or prototype circa 1961.

The 1961 manufacturing dates place this guitar fully three years before Candy Apple Red was even offered on the custom color charts at Fender. Aside from the amazing deep red luster of the beautifully checked finish and luminescent and rainbow flecked mettalics - this guitar authenticates perfectly with even blacklighting, intact solder joints and totally consistent neckplate, neck, body, and all pickups, pots, wiring, and OHSC.

Very even and consistent checking on an astonishing deep vibrant endless red with glow in the dark movement in the finish from the multicolor mettalic in the red nitrocellulose. Minimal scar and shows the white Fender finish as all of these do with some lovingly applied small CAR touchup paint on a small edge dink shown in the pictures. These finishes were notoriously fragile and most are scarred and marred. This one is remarkably clean and just beautiful to behold front and back.

I'm personally not a fan of the later and lighter versions of Fender's Candy Apple Red in the catalog and reissues. For me, a guitar like this is the true pinnacle and 10/10 colorwise for what a real Candy Apple Red should be. The one all others should be compared against. Just sayin...

An unbelievable capstone for your collection and historic early and lovely example of Candy Apple Red. Wowza this one is sweet! Hard to overstate the rarity of this guitar in this color. I dare you to find one circa earlier than this date. I double dare you to come up with any exemplar that looks better and has more mojo!!.
