Description

Collector grade slab board Stratocaster from mid 1961. The three tone sunburst is as vibrant as the day it left the factory. The guitar was no case queen-it was played but was well cared for. There is light wear to the bass side of the neck and some light worming on the back (nothing through the finish). There is a small area of coil cord rash on the back as well. The front is super clean with only a few small chips. There is very light edge wear. I'll call it 9/10. It is all original with the exception of the low E string saddle. It's correct but it doesn't quite match the others. It's a wonderful player with lots of bite and character. Neck profile is slim to medium at the first fret (.80") and seriously chunky by the 12th (1"). The nut is wider than many Strats at 1.66" (nearly 1 11/16"). Pickups measure 5.85 (bridge) 6.15 (middle) and 5.75 (neck). Case is very clean, all latches work as do the latch springs. Original case key, instruction manual and strap. The ash tray is missing-a repro is included.
