1962 Fender Stratocaster Olympic White

Not a lot of custom color slab boards around. This Olympic White 62 has been rode pretty hard but it still plays great and actually looks pretty clean from the front. Trouble is that when Fender paints one color over another, the paint chips easily. This is Olympic White over Desert Sand. I guess they were trying to save money by using the not too popular Desert Sand as a base coat. Anyway, the back is pretty flaked off but nobody sees it unless you're playing it behind your head )folks did that back in the day). Electronics are original as are all the parts. Neck date is May 62, pots date to 18th week of 62. No body date to be found. The frets look original but I can't imagine that they are given all the play this Strat has seen so let's call it a re-fret with vintage wire. Original ash tray and trem arm. Vintage strap too. Case is clean original-everything works although the springs in the latches are shot.
