Description

Fender was on the verge of discontinuing the Stratocaster after the 1967 and 68 sales numbers went into the toilet. Then some guy named Jimi came along and single handed revitalized the venerable old Strat. Late 60's Strats can be incredible guitars. The slightly hotter gray back pickups make a difference and most of the rest of it is the same as it ever was (except the headstock). By 69 most had poly finishes but not Candy Apple Red. Best, I can tell, the body is nitro and the neck is poly finished. I have three late 60's Strats right now and I was pleasantly surprised by the playability and tone. This one is in really excellent condition with some chips along the edges but overall it's a solid 9/10. Everything is original but the bridge cover is missing. Repros are cheap (and accurate). The pots are from 66. Neck date is April 69. Case is original and in excellent condition.
