Summary: Here is a great playing, sharp-looking example of a late 60s Strat. Its look is iconic with a white guard on a nicely aged sunburst finish, and so is the tone from its three coveted gray-bottom pickups (the same kind used by Strat champions Hendrix, Clapton and Gilmour to achieve their classic tones).

Body: Double cutaway contoured alder. Sunburst finish.

Neck: Maple with D-shape profile. Veneer rosewood fretboard with pearloid dot inlays. Larger style headstock. Four bolt neck plate. F-stamped tuners. Single string tree. 25.5” scale length. 1 5/8” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Three gray-back single coil pickups with staggered pole pieces and white plastic covers. Three-way pickup selector (neck/middle/bridge) with white switch tip. One volume and two tone controls with white plastic knobs. Synchronized tremolo bridge (trem arm included in case) with individual adjustable string saddles. White three-layer pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in very good condition. There are few small marks to the finish on top. The back has a bit more wear including some buckle rash, a spot worn down to the wood from play and two areas where the finish has been marked from a strap left laying in the case. The tip of the pickguard has chipped off (the shielding in that area is still intact). A small piece of the plastic back plate has also chipped off. The saddles have a little tarnish, but nothing that affects functionality.

Playability: The action is a comfortable medium. It plays great, and could likely be adjusted to preference. Frets are in great shape, with some wear in the “cowboy chord” area. There is no buzz or fretting out along the neck and intonation is good. Tone from the gray-back pickups is classic Strat: round and warm in the neck, chimey in the middle, and spanky in the bridge.

Weight: 8 lbs, 7 oz.

Case: Original hard shell.
