Description

Now available on consignment, a 1970 Fender Stratocaster in its original 3-tone sunburst!

This guitar has been very well played, with a tonne of finish wear and vibe to the original sunburst. As you can see it was definitely played in some smokey bars over the years as well.

Work to the guitar includes:

A a medium jumbo refret with a new nut at some point, plenty of life in these frets
A 5-way switch and replacement switch tip
The bridge pickup is an exact period correct replacement from 1970
The backplate screws, and strap buttons have been replaced (originals included)
The CTS volume pot is a replacement from the 1980s
Otherwise all of the original hardware and plastics remain (minus the switch tip), as do all of the electronics. The 2x original CTS pots date to the 34th week of '69, and the wiring appears original other than the mentioned replaced switch and volume pot.

The guitar was been recently setup with 10-46 strings with a fairly low action and plays very well, its definitely been played for good reason.

A fantastic playing and sounding example of a late 4-bolt era CBS Fender Stratocaster, includes its original case (re-lined).
