This is a rare 1958 Stratocaster with ash body and 2 tone sunburst. The neck is a one-piece maple neck with the tip of the 1957 V-shape slightly thinned out. The matching ash body and maple neck are the original specifications of the Stratocaster when it was first released in 1954. Compared to the alder body, the sound is cleaner and more clearly outlined, but with a beautifully resonant and expansive sound that includes sound in the windpipe. The tension guide without a retainer, which is characteristic of the era, and the head top with a clear edge are also distinctive in appearance. Since this is a transitional period, the capacitor is a potted Cornell Doubler capacitor, and there is a mixture of specifications from around 1957. The thin paint job is unique to the vintage period, and the weather checks that have developed over the years give this piece its character. This is a very good condition piece and recommended for those who are looking for a one-of-a-kind vintage guitar.
