Description

This is a very rare & early special ordered "Custom Shop" Stratocaster w/a set-neck body construction that's perhaps 1 of the only ones ever produced. Its groovy natural finish is over an incredible AAAAA figured Maple top laminated over a pretty mahogany back side to its body. Its also got a solid Maple 1 piece neck w/a factory set neck design. Its got an early Reversed Headstock & an ebony fingerboard. This set-neck option never did convince Fender to keep this high line Strat on its special order option sheet for very long & went against most Fender buyers that luv'd its original 4-bolt neck design. Its loaded w/3 potent DiMarzio pickups including 2 single coil & 1 Humbucker making a very fancy Hair Band guitar while sporting a factory Floyd Rose Wammy Bar w/a lock down nut. Made w/out any pickgard still retaining its 5-way switch. She's got all Black hardware that completes its stunning Hard Rock appearance. My friend John Page, who ran the custom shop for years, told me that Fender originally started w/a set-neck Tele design in the late 80's. John stated that when John Suhr joined the custom shop Master Builders in 1992, he was the one whom designed this Strat body design & named it a "Dinky" but Fender used left over serial #'s from the late 80's even though it was completed 5 years later. She was registered by the factory in 1993 making it 1 of the hippest & earliest full blow Custom Shop guitars. This is basically an early Master Built Strat w/its CS stamp on the back of its headstock & it has a normal Fender 1988 serial before they got its new CS system of #'s. This has certainly been played a bunch having many pings, dings & scratches, but she's still a stunner in very good all original condition. These were made before certificates were offered & we have never seen a Strat as beautiful & this special ordered until the full blown Master Built's were offered. It comes complete w/a Tweed hard case.
