This is a Fender Stratocaster made in Japan the mid 1980's with the famous dive bombing Fender System One Tremolo! Neck is straight, truss rod functions, profile is a 60's D shape for a thinner and faster feel, 12 inch radius for easy fingering, 22 medium Jumbo frets (see final photos of listing for detailed fret wear).
These E series Strats played a really big part in saving Fender Music Corp from going extinct (see history below).
HISTORY: In 1982, Fender expanded operations with a series of instruments produced in Japan by the Fuji Gen Gakki company. Like the US serial numbers, MIJ (made in Japan) serials start with a letter or pair of letters that indicate the rough year of production. This system, however, is notoriously inconsistent and incomplete, which makes dating by serial number even less reliable for MIJ Fenders: E + 6 digits = 1984 to 1987. When CBS finally reduced Fender to a shell of its former self, several company employees decided to buy back Fender from the corporate giant and rejuvenate the struggling brand in 1985. This transition period gave birth to a line of instruments that filled the void for quality Fender Instruments that consumers had been longing for. Starting in 1985 they introduced the (Made in Japan) Model #1 Standard Stratocaster which we have here with the FS1 bridge.

All of my guitars have been fully tested and are functional. All of my guitars have been cleaned, detailed, and waxed, electronics flushed and checked for functionality. All of my guitars have been “set up”: neck straightness adjusted when possible, fingerboard oil treated (if rosewood/laurel), action set, pickup height optimized, intonation checked, to MY PERSONAL PREFERENCES ($60. Value at any Guitar Center). Please note: “setups” are not “one size fits all”. Your personal set up requirements might be different from mine, so, additional adjustments may be needed to suit your setup preferences. Also, for optimal sound and playing ease, I always advise buyers to put a new set of strings on the guitar, the brand and gauge of their preference. To protect the guitar from damage, string tension will be relieved before shipping. You will need to tune the guitar to pitch when it arrives. ***Condition Disclaimer*** This is a PREVIOUSLY OWNED item. Please see images for details and ask any questions you may have BEFORE YOU BUY!
