Description

Leo Fender's favorite amp was, according to conventional wisdom and lore, the tweed Super. Apparently, the great Walter Becker (Steely Dan) thought they were a pretty cool amp as well. This 58 has been rode hard for sure but it still sounds great. It has had a few caps replaced but the important yellow Astrons are all there. Speakers are vintage 1959 Jensen P10Q's but they are not original. They have been re-coned. Transformers are original. The tweed is pretty ratty but it is original and that is an important factor in the valuation. The tweed Super puts out around 26 watts using the tried and true 6L6 circuit that Leo used in the tweed Pro and the tweed Bandmaster. All three models are identical except for the output transformer speaker impedance. I bought this amp from the auction house that sold off Becker's gear assets and the original bound catalog is included as well as the tag from the auction house. This is a great sounding amp that should remain reliable for another 65 years.
