Offered for sale;

Used 1969 Fender Super Reverb serial number A42554. This amp is in very good condition.

The 1968 and 1969 Fender Super Reverb-Amps were known for their “weather stripping” or “drip rail” around the grille. This is one of the earliest non-weather strip versions that ushered in the 1970s.

Cosmetically there are some scuffs and marks here and there, some discoloration in the silver face control panel and grille. The amp shows usage and a nice amount of patina.

Normal maintenance has been performed including new filter caps, cleaning pots, tightening tube sockets etc. Reverb pan is new as is a 3-prong a/c cord. The newest pot code we could find 1376917 (CTS 1969). Speakers are Blue Label CTS.

The Super Reverb is a very popular Fender amp due to the robustness and the pure tone from the evolving circuitry. Most know that the early AB763 circuit was replaced by the AB568 version. Utilizing the same tube configuration of 4-12AX7’s and 2-12AT7 pre-amp tubes, a 5AR4 (GZ34) rectifier and 2-6L6GC output tubes producing 45 watts.

The label inside this amp states AB763 however since the newest component we were able to date is April 1969, we believe it is most likely an AB568. Fender was known for using the older labels on newer designs due to them having an excess of the AB763 labels on hand.

The important thing is, to paraphrase our amp guru Chris Davis: “As long as they’re working right, every Blackface and Silverface Fender sounds great.”

You can physically feel the dynamic response from one of the best vintage Fender amps of them all.

Why consider a reissue when you can have an original?

*Please note: we do our best giving descriptions of used pieces. We have found it impossible to describe every mark on an instrument or amp that is not in the "mint" category. Also, what's important to you may not be important to someone else. For example, you may say, "I don't care what it looks like as long as it plays or sounds well." Another person may say, "Body cosmetics are very important to me so tell me about every scratch, nick and blemish." So, please ask the questions that are most important to you. If you ask they will be answered. They are free and there's no limit. Additional photos can also be made available.

This is a specific item that is also being offered for sale in our brick & mortar location. It is possible that it has just been sold. Please ask if it is still available before purchasing.

*It is our policy to require a signature on delivery of all musical instruments. Please let us know if you prefer no signature required when ordering or we will automatically require a signature.

If you prefer your item to be sent without a required signature Imperial Guitar and the selected carrier can no longer be responsible for the security of the package once it has been delivered.
